A total of 163 senior civil servants in Delta State have graduated from a management course organized by the Office of the Head of State Service in collaboration with the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON).

The program entitled “Seven Weekend Senior Management Course” is the 17th in the series.

Addressing the participants at the closing ceremony in Asaba, HOS, Reginald Bayoko, congratulated them on their exemplary conduct and good performance.

He said the management course was a prerequisite for the promotion of officers under the leadership of the state civil service.

According to him, the training aimed to equip participants with management techniques to enable them to cope with the pressing demands of the service.

Bayoko congratulated the attendees, saying they learned the basics needed for higher responsibility at the top of the service hierarchy.

He instructed them to trade government investments by reinvesting the knowledge they have gained through training into service.

HOS commended the state government and other partners for the continued capacity building of workers.

ASCON CEO, represented by Academic Director Goodluck Audu, described the 163 participants as renowned agents of effective change.

He advocated for similar training for officers at levels seven to ten, noting that it would help bridge the skills and knowledge gap between the executive and above.

Austin Ekpevwu, who spoke on behalf of the attendees, thanked the organizers and suggested steps to improve the classroom experience in future trainings.
