The Beauparc waste management company has acquired a counterpart with more than 1,000 customers nationally and internationally.
Acumen Waste Services, headquartered in Yorkshire, was founded in 1994 and offers a range of services at its facilities including difficult waste management, on-site industrial and contract waste collection.
In addition to disposing of waste, Acumen’s Industrial Site Services team works on-site with major petrochemical, oil and gas companies to ensure safe, efficient and sustainable waste handling.
The agreement will allow Beauparc, headquartered in Dublin, to enter the specialist waste treatment sector and support its drive to provide in-house total waste management services to its customers.
Andy Crossley, Managing Director of Acumen, said, “We are absolutely thrilled to join an organization that aligns so closely with our own values. Like Beauparc, Acumen has become a leader in the specialist and difficult waste sector and we are very proud of the brand, the achievements and the customers who have been part of this journey with us.
“Going forward, we are excited to be able to provide the same innovative and specialist solutions to our own customers, but also to help provide total waste management to Beauparc’s existing customer base. Retaining the knowledge and people within Acumen, along with the support of a much larger organization will bring greater benefits for all.”
As a result of the agreement, longtime Acumen members and shareholders Leon Kirk and Jon Morris will leave the board.
The existing management team will remain with the business, with managing director Andy Crossley and chief financial officer Kris Sutton working alongside Beauparc management to grow the business.
Beauparc Managing Director, Brian McCabe, added, “Acumen Waste is a leading specialist waste company with a best-in-class team delivering premium service offerings to a loyal customer base.
“The combination of Beauparc and Acumen is highly complementary and now enables our joint venture to offer market-leading services across several specialties in our key catchment areas. We are delighted to be working with Andy, Kris and the expanded management team to continue to provide quality services to Acumen’s and Beauparc’s expanded customer base.”
Acumen is headquartered in Knottingley with operations in Keighley, Teesside, Wolverhampton, York and Dewsbury.
Acumen shareholders were advised by Ben Peacock of Park Place Corporate Finance and Kaira Clarehugh, Santino Stefanelli and Jonathan Simms of Clarion.
