About the role

This opportunity is essential to provide the Local highways and asset management services in Lincolnshire in accordance with the Highways Act 1980 and County Council policies and procedures.

This is a challenging role, where you will have the opportunity to develop yourself and others, developing and maintaining strong and positive relationships with colleagues, elected advisors and partners in all areas of service. You will contribute to a conscientious culture of proactive and forward-looking service delivery, engaging our clients and modeling accountability.

About the team

You will be an integral part of the Highway Management Team and as such will be appreciated, supported and provide support to the other members of the leadership team as we collectively provide a challenging yet rewarding service.

About you

We are looking for a dynamic new member of our Highway Management Team. You will ideally be a senior manager with significant experience in a similar environment, adept at developing effective working relationships to enhance collaborative working both internally and with partners.

Passionate and driven to ensure necessary changes are achieved as well as continuous improvement and development of operational excellence through strategic direction and decision making.

You will need to demonstrate;

  • exceptional communication and negotiation skills
  • a natural ability to engage at all levels
  • professionalism, emotional intelligence and integrity
  • effective motivational leadership and vision setting for staff at all levels
  • a positive attitude towards change in order to develop and maintain services in an ever-changing environment
  • significant ability and experience to perform the duties of this role.

Remote work

At present, during the coronavirus restrictions, all of our employees are working from home if they are able to do so to support the health and safety of all of our colleagues. We are embracing new ways of working and anticipate that remote working will continue to be a key feature of this role. You will be given a designated contract work base and once the current restrictions are lifted, you will be required to travel to that work base if necessary.

Our technological platform and our equipment are very powerful allowing you to connect and collaborate remotely. We require you to have good connectivity and we will discuss during the recruitment process if assistance is needed.
