About the role

This opportunity is essential to the delivery of Local highways and asset management services across Lincolnshire in accordance with the Highways Act 1980 and County Council policies and procedures.

This is a challenging role, where you will have the opportunity to develop yourself and others, developing and maintaining strong and positive relationships with colleagues, elected advisers and partners in all areas of service. You will contribute to a conscientious culture of proactive and forward-looking service delivery, engaging our clients and modeling accountability.

You will be a full member of the Road management team and as such will be valued, supported and provide support to other members of the leadership team as we collectively provide an inspiring yet rewarding service.

About you

We are looking for a dynamic new member of our Road management team. You will ideally be a senior executive with significant experience in a similar environment, able to develop effective working relationships to improve collaborative work both internally and with partners.

Passionate and determined to ensure the necessary changes are made as well as the continuous improvement and development of Operational Excellence through strategic direction and decision making.

You will need to demonstrate;

  • exceptional communication and negotiation skills
  • a natural ability to engage at all levels
  • professionalism, emotional intelligence and integrity
  • effective motivational leadership and vision setting for staff at all levels
  • a positive attitude towards change in order to develop and maintain services in a constantly changing environment
  • significant ability and experience to perform the duties of this role.

Remote work

Right now, during the coronavirus restrictions, all of our employees are working from home if they are able to do so to support the health and safety of all of our colleagues. We are embracing new ways of working and we anticipate that remote working will continue to be a key feature of this role. You will be given a designated contractual working base and once the current restrictions are lifted you will need to travel to that working base if necessary.

Our technological platform and our equipment are very powerful, allowing you to connect and collaborate remotely. We require that you have good connectivity in place and we will discuss during the recruiting process if support is required.
