The board of directors of Stanbic Investment Management Services Ltd. (SIMS) appointed Kwabena Boamah as Managing Director effective September 1, 2021. Kwabena succeeds Mr. Alex Asiedu who has assumed the regional role of Head of Investments, Africa region of the standard. Bank Group.

Until his appointment, Kwabena was Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of SIMS, a role he assumed in 2016. There he led investment strategy, asset allocation, risk management and SIMS operations. Previously, Kwabena served as Head of Investments and Client Relations from 2014, following his first role as Portfolio Manager when he joined the company in 2007.

Prior to joining SIMS, he was a portfolio manager at Ecobank Investment Management Limited (now EDC Investments Limited) after his role at Databank Brokerage Limited as Senior Fixed Income Analyst and Securities Broker.

Kwabena holds an MBA from the Paris Graduate School of Management, a Diploma in Financial Management from ACCA and a Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement from the CFA Institute. He is currently a doctoral student in finance at SMC University, Switzerland.

Kwabena brings decades of investment management experience to her new role. He is passionate about responsible investing and helping people achieve their investment goals.

He is also a respected industry expert, serving on the Fund Management Sub-Committee of the Securities Industry Association of Ghana and assisting the National Pensions Regulatory Authority in the development of investment guidelines. .
