From defining the narrative of being an “aam aadmi” icon to taking the lead by opposition politicians “head-on” in the Assembly on the last day of Punjab’s two-day special session Vidhan Sabha, Minister Chief Charanjit Singh Channi asserted his authority as the leader of the Legislative Party of Congress today.

Showing skills to maneuver through the onslaught of the opposition to eclipse CPC leader Navjot Singh Sidhu, CM Channi took an aggressive stance as he rushed into the SAD, led by Bikram Majithia. Tackling an already exhausted AAP in the House, CM Channi has targeted the party’s national leader, Arvind Kejriwal, for being “an outsider who does not understand the Punjabis dilemma”.

Interestingly, CM Channi was seen keeping Sidhu in a good mood by repeatedly referring to and defending him during a discussion of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) termination / renegotiation legislation and the resolution to reject the three central agricultural laws, as he flaunted his oratory skills to blame the Akalis for various “acts of omission and commission.”

At one point, CM Channi and Sidhu were seen jointly attacking the Akalis, much to the chagrin of the party’s high command, which seeks to use the combination of Channi’s “aam aadmi” image and Sidhu’s “aggressive” style. in the preparatory phase. in the elections to the Assembly.

Punctuating his verbal attack with couplets and quotations from religious scriptures, CM Channi launched a virulent attack on the Akalis, accusing them of pushing young people in Punjab into drugs. With the exception of some reprehensible remarks attributed to Majithia, Channi demonstrated effective floor management skills when he occupied the opposition benches with the support of his MPs.

Political analysts believe CM Channi’s political journey has come full circle, from being ridiculed in the previous term for his “patchwork” commentary as opposition leader in 2016 to now facing the opposition.

Jakhar tackles the PAA

Congress leader Sunil Jakhar criticized the AAP for not announcing the face of its chief minister. “” A suitable Sikh match is required “(No, this is not for a marriage alliance). This is how the AAP planned to search for a Sikh CM candidate on OLX, ”he tweeted.
